General Information

 

Mission Statement: Howard Elementary School is dedicated to providing a solid educational foundation, within a supportive environment, where children will become life-long learners, and respectful, responsible, resourceful citizens.

Motto: Respect Yourself, Respect Others.

Mascot:  Mustang

School Colors: Red and Black

Grades: K-6  Enrollment: 461 Staff: 51

Student Transportation: Students who live one mile or more from school are bussed to and from school. Children who live less than one mile from school walk or are transported by car. The majority of students at Howard walk to school everyday.

Middle School and High School Attendance Areas: After finishing sixth grade, Howard students attend McLoughlin Middle School and then North Medford High School.

Howard has a Facebook Page:  "Like" the page and receive postings on upcoming events, activities and information.  There are pictures of staff and students (identification information is not shared) and information about the school on the page. 
 

Howard Elementary is a Title I school
Title IA
 allocates
funding to assist public schools with high numbers or percentages of poor children and to help ensure that all children meet challenging State academic achievement standards.
The Federal Programs department manages the federal grants as well as our School Improvement efforts when they correlate directly to these grants. Click on the button above to find out important information about Title I. 

Today’s students are preparing to enter a world in which colleges and businesses are demanding more than ever before. To ensure all students are ready for success after high school, the Common Core State Standards establish clear, consistent guidelines for what every student should know and be able to do in math and English language arts from kindergarten through 12th grade.
