BEACON SCHOOL

Jefferson named a BEACON school by State Schools Superintendent Susan Castillo.

Jefferson will serve as a demonstration site in order to assist other schools by allowing them the opportunity to observe excellent reading systems and instruction during 90 - minute literacy blocks. Jefferson was selected to become a Beacon school because of it's high level of staff commitment and leadership, resuliting in consistent improvement in student reading achievement

Student Transportation: Students who live one mile or more from school are bussed to and from school. Children who live less than one mile from school walk or are transported by parents.

Middle School and High School Attendance Areas: After finishing sixth grade, Jefferson students attend McLoughlin Middle School and then on to South Medford High School.
