Dear Tornado Friends,
I am humbled and excited to embark on this new journey as Principal of North Medford High School. At every turn I see new possibilities emerging as I meet our students, staff, and families. Our foundation of tradition has made way for innovation, inclusion, and most importantly, a strong sense of Black Tornado Pride as we give our best in every way; every day!
North Medford High School programs have long been recognized as being among the very best in Oregon. Academic excellence for our students has been nurtured and developed through rigorous programs such as AP courses in mathematics, English, history, social studies, sciences, and fine arts. Our commitment to career and technical courses such as engineering, robotics, business, manufacturing, automotive technology, early childhood education, culinary arts, and many more courses, some of which qualify for college credits, create a well-rounded experience for our students. Our athletic teams compete at the highest levels throughout the state as well as being recognized as having some of the highest team GPA’s amongst their peers.
Innovation is helping us improve our graduation rates as we find better ways to help struggling students meet rigorous requirements and demonstrate proficiency on state standards. Another innovation is the development of “Pathways” to focus each student’s academic pursuits. We anticipate that our Academic Pathways will add clarity and purpose to every North Medford High School students’ experience.
In terms of inclusion, you will hear us say “we” instead of “me” at North Medford. Every student matters, and each person counts – everyone is included. We are not individual tornados; it takes us all to make the one. WE are the Black Tornado.
Our sense of pride is borne from effort. We trust that everyone is doing their best meet the challenge of success head-on. We welcome your support and hope that you too will share in our sense of Black Tornado Pride.
