Family Engagement

  • Families play an important role in the education of their children. Jefferson families are encouraged to be involved by volunteering in the classroom as a VIM, attending conferences for their students, contacting teachers by email/phone or by attending Site Council/School Improvement team/PTO meetings.

During the school year, we offer many family friendly activities, including an Open House BBQ, ELL Family Night, Math and Science Family Night, Family Literacy Night, and a Reading Event. Caregivers who are concerned about the academic or social development of their child are encouraged to schedule an individual conference to discuss concerns.

Our school has a 100% Free Meal program. Breakfast and Lunch are provided at no cost for all students. Families are not required to fill out free/reduced lunch forms this year.

Families are a necessary part of Title I-A. Each Title I-A school has a Family Engagement Plan to ensure that activities are planned to include families. The Jefferson MSD Promise spells out the goals, expectations, and shared responsibilities of schools and caregivers in students' success. We invite you to contact your school's Principal if you would like to serve on a committee or if you have questions or suggestions regarding Title I-A service.
