The Main Things - September 13th, 2021
Main Thing 1: Vaccine Mandate
We’ve rolled out our process to comply with the new vaccine mandate. You should have received an email from Talent-Ed last Thursday, September 9th. You can also login here to view the process. Forms need to be uploaded by this Friday, September 17th. We are requiring anyone who does not provide proof of vaccination to do weekly COVID-19 testing at home. Results are shared with Jackson County, not with the district. If you don’t wish to test, you can arrange a meeting with HR to discuss options. Contact HR with questions.
Main Thing 2: District Improvement Teams
Our district improvements are off to a great start! We are working on being the best in the world at teaching reading; getting kids graduated; knowing all students by name, strength and need; and creating a leadership pipeline. We look forward to sharing the progress with you and getting many of you involved.
Main Thing 3: Thank You to Community Partners
We want to give a huge thank you to Burlington Coat Factory and AdoptAClassroom.org for donating $5,000 to Oak Grove Elementary School. Teachers will use the donation for creative ways to support student learning. We have been informed there will be another donation next year, this time to one teacher. If you would like the chance to get some additional funds for your classroom, sign up here!
The next Main Thing will be released on Monday, September 27.
