Positive Behavior Interventions and Support
To Jacksonville Students:
You are very special to us. We want you to be happy at school and to learn all that you possibly can. Our school utilizes positive behavior interventions and support (PBIS) to help us maintain an efficient and orderly school. We have identified three rules that will help us all be successful:
Be Safe - We want our school to be a place of utmost safety, both physically and emotionally. Students should be able to come to school free from worry that they might be injured, mistreated, bullied, or taunted by others. Please act safely in each and every situation so that our school will continue to be an incredible place to learn and grow.
Be Respectful - Treating everyone with dignity and respect includes following directions, being polite, treating people the way you would like to be treated, and accepting differences between and among people.
Be Responsible - All through your life you must decide how you will act. Therefore, we expect you to do what is right whether anyone is watching you or not. This is called “being responsible.” It isn’t always easy to make responsible choices, especially if someone else is not being responsible. It is important for you to remember that you are in charge of yourself. You are expected to do your best and take responsibility for your actions. You can do what is right!
The adults at Jacksonville Elementary will help you achieve success at school. We will do this by helping you solve problems and by protecting your right to learn. We look forward to a good year, and are happy to have an opportunity to work with you.
