Volunteer Opportunities
Classroom Helper
Parent Helper: Assist teacher with various tasks. For example, correct papers, student projects, reading to kids, listen to kids read, small groups, etc.
Room Parent: Help coordinate parties and other classroom activities with the help of the teacher and other parents. Parties are given three times a year.
Parties: Donate food for classroom parties. Parents may also help supervise activities during classroom parties.
Field Trips: Work with classroom teachers in organizing field trips throughout the year.
School Activities
Carnival: Help coordinate with other volunteers to organize booths, prizes and food. The carnival will be held in October.
SMART reader: Volunteer one or two days a week to read a book with a student. Please contact Gail Plowman @ 842-3016.
Book Fair: Assist Mrs. Thibodo with setting up, running, and taking down all materials during the school’s Book Fair. This happens once a year.
Field Day: Help organize, set up, and supervise fun outdoor stations on one day during the last week of school.
Fund Raising: Help teachers do fundraising for their grade level or individual classes. Fundraisers may include, the Mothers day plant sale, Candy bar sales, candles.
PE Testing: Help organize and supervise stations for testing students on physical skills.
Other
Recess Round-up: Parent volunteers who help on the playground during recess so the students can have fun, safe, & enjoyable activities. Recess Round-up was created so that our students can enjoy structured activities under the supervision of adults.
Office Support: Help our front office with various needs, such as:
- lost and found organization
- filing paperwork
- filling supply orders
- organizing cabinets/drawers
- make calls to parents for various projects
- assist parent booster club president with miscellaneous activities
This would be on an “as needed” basis or 1 – 2 times per week.
Library Assisting: Help Mrs. Thibodo with many aspects of the library. Those willing to assist will have to go through specific training in order to help keep our library organized and usable for students and teachers.
