Natosha Savage, Online Principal
I want to first say that I am thrilled to be joining the Medford School District and Medford Online Academy for the 2023-24 school year!
I was born and raised in the Rogue Valley, only leaving to attend college in California and South Carolina and spend the 22-23 school year in Alaska. I began my career in education in 1998 as a middle school teacher and high school softball coach in Rogue River. In 2004, I had the opportunity to return to my roots in Central Point where I was hired as a middle school language arts teacher and continued in coaching. I later transferred to Crater High School where I taught until 2021. I earned my administrator license through SOU just the world was shutting down due to the pandemic. The bulk of my administration practicum was in online learning and platforms. This experience led me to Grants Pass, where I helped launch their flexible learning school, GPFLEX. In the spring of 2022, I decided to pursue personal opportunities in Alaska, where I returned to the classroom in an alternative education high school in the Mat-Su Valley. Although I got to experience the wonderful scenery and beauty of the "North to the Future" state, my heartstrings were pulling me back to southern Oregon.
Not only did my return to Oregon land me in the Medford School District, but it also brought me closer to my daughter. Lillian will start her junior year at Pacific University in Forest Grove this fall where she will continue her major in criminology and minor in creative writing. My mom-heart is happy to be a short drive, rather than a flight, away from my kid- no matter how old she is!
I cannot wait to serve the students and families of MOA and be part of the wonderful opportunities on the horizon
