The Medford School District partners with Family Solutions to offer on-site behavioral health counseling. Agency staff collaborate with school staff, community partners, and other service providers to meet students’ social-emotional wellness needs. During physical distancing, additional therapy options (including on-site) are available. Please see below for information about the Family Solutions counselor at Central Medford High School.
Greg Simmons, MS, QMHP
Greg has been with CMHS since the 2016-’17 school year. He previously provided mental health & substance abuse counseling for teens in an Oregon-based Wilderness Therapy program; and in Alaska for Native teens and families through a tribal health company. His approaches are strengths based, solution focused, and family systems oriented. School-based counseling service at CMHS may be helpful to address a variety of life issues, including:
- depression, anxiety and other mental health concerns
- stress, grief & loss, anger….
- problems concerning family, school, housing
- drug & alcohol use
- involvement with the criminal justice system
- many others that are welcomed
Services are confidential and at no cost. “Check & Connect” attendance and graduation support is provided. Coordination with other school and community resources is encouraged and supported.
