Degrees and Certifications:

Sarah Costa, Principal

To my dear families at Griffin Creek,

I am honored to be a part of the dedicated, caring, and compassionate staff at Griffin Creek Elementary School as the principal.

I come to Griffin Creek with 18 years of experience in the Medford School District. I started my career as a teacher, enjoying every class, and every student that I was given a chance to inspire and motivate to reach their goals. I taught for 15 years at Washington Elementary School. Subsequently, I spent 2 years as a Teacher On Special Assignment serving as an Instructional Coach, working alongside teachers throughout the Medford School District and fostering strong teaching and learning. I also had the pleasure of working with students and families on school readiness as an Equity and Access Advocate at Jackson Elementary School.

The Medford School District has a strong shared vision: ALL are Learning and Learning is for ALL. My belief is that students should always remain at the center of what we do. Through differentiated instruction and individualizing each student’s needs, our children can reach their full potential, and at the same time, enjoy their learning experience. Our staff provides the students at Griffin Creek with engaging, high cognitive, and relatable experiences in class. We also strongly believe that building relationships, teaching life skills, and allowing students to have a sense of belonging is also very important.

Griffin Creek Elementary School has a strong community that provides a welcoming environment with high expectations of learning for all students. Our staff works hard to create equity among all students and thrives for our children to reach high, see far, and shine bright! We continue to encourage our future stars!

All my Best,
