Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this welcome letter to you as the newly appointed principal of Jefferson Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of education, a dedicated and caring staff, and families that are involved and are willing to become true partners in the education of their child/children.
I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than twenty-two years and have worked with a variety of grade levels, from preschool through high school. My most recent administrative experience was in a K-5 elementary school, where I served as principal for thirteen years. I am excited and eager to bring my skills as an educational leader to Jefferson Elementary and work with you as a partner to ensure your child's success in school--academically, emotionally, behaviorally, and socially.
Although this year will be different than most, the education and support that the entire Jefferson staff will be offering students and families will be inspiring, creative, strong, consistent, and individualized. We will be focusing on character education, implementation of the Common Core state standards and the use of data to drive instruction, and the well-being of everyone in the Jefferson family; whether virtually, or in person, we will work hard to ensure that your child/children receive the best education possible.
As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors (in person or virtually)-teachers, students and parents-are excited to be part of the Jefferson family! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop by, call or email me at any time.
I look forward to working with you as a team member for the 2020-2021 school year.
