My name is Eduardo Steiger. I am teaching fourth grade this year at Roosevelt Elementary. I went to school at Southern Oregon University, and recently, I received my degree in Elementary Education. This is my first official class ever! I could not be more excited to be teaching this group of children. I had the unique opportunity to work with many of this year's upcoming class last year. With that being said, I know many of my students already, and I think they are great!
If you have never seen me, I am on the left. To my right is my wonderful sister!
I am very happy to be teaching your child this year. We are going to have a wonderful year, and I could not be happier to be embarking on this journey with your child. I am a firm believer in building a classroom community. In my mind, you, are very much a part of my classroom, and nothing would make me happier than to have you be involved in your student’s school life. On top of family involvement, I pride myself in providing quality learning activities that will guide your child to both academic and social success throughout the school year. When creating my lessons, I closely match my instruction to your child’s needs. To further help your child succeed, I have also developed behavior expectations and these will be in effect at all times. By enforcing rules at all times, it ensures that all students are learning at optimal levels, including your child.
My classroom rules are as follows:
- We respect each other.
- We try our best.
- We are a team.
- We learn from our mistakes.
- We create.
- We celebrate each other’s success.
In class, we discussed why all the rules start with we. In short, I do this because I believe in being a team player. One of my biggest goals as a teacher is to mentor a groups of children that will soon be great citizens. Please take a moment to talk with your child about the importance of rules and how they shape a positive environment both inside and outside the classroom. I have no doubt that your child will not only excel in my class, because now, they are part of a supportive team.
I believe that we are going to have an outstanding year. I plan on keeping you informed about your child’s progress by keeping my Parent Access Link grades up to date and sending home periodic progress reports. If you ever have questions or concerns about anything pertaining to your child do not hesitate to call me at school. If I am unable to get to the phone, please leave a message, and I will return your call in a timely manner. The school phone number is 541-842-3840 and my extension number is _____. I look forward to an incredible year with our class and I hope to see you often.
Thank you,
Eduardo Steiger
