Living in Southern Oregon

Welcome to the Medford Community!

Live and serve students in the Southern Oregon community.

Southern Oregon is just north of the California Border. Our communities of Jacksonville, Ruch, and Medford offer affordable housing in thriving neighborhoods and small cities.

Go from sipping coffee in the morning to hiking at Table Rock in the afternoon and enjoying a modern culinary scene downtown in the evening. There’s no better time to make your home in the Pacific Northwest. Here are a few things that we love about living here, but don't just take our word for it! Visit Travel Medford to explore more.

Outdoor Recreation

We have endless year-round outdoor activities. Southern Oregon is   less than three hours from the coast, hiking trails in your backyard,     and nearby state/national parks.  During the summertime, you can     find yourself hiking, rafting, camping, or hanging by the lake. During   the winter time, the popular activity is skiing! Just an hour's drive up   the mountain, Mt. Ashland has been operating for 60 years for   skiers, snowboarders, and many hills for sledding!

Entertainment And The Arts

Discover the best of the arts in Southern Oregon with the Southern Oregon Shakespeare Festival and the Britt Festival. In Ashland, the Shakespeare Festival brings timeless plays to life in a beautiful setting. At the same time, the Britt Festival in the Rogue Valley offers a diverse lineup of music for all tastes. Whether you're into theater or music, these festivals promise unforgettable experiences surrounded by stunning scenery and passionate performances.

Oregon's Only National Park

The US's deepest, bluest, and cleanest lake is just an hour and a half away. Established as the fifth national park in 1902, Crater Lake offers many activities to do year-round! During the summer and fall, you can hike, backcountry camp, fish, and even jump into the lake! Even during the winter, it is the snowiest park in the United States. They offer various snow-showing and cross-country skiing activities, sledding, and snowmobiling.
