Parent Leadership Resources
MSD encourages families to take an active role in their school community through leadership opportunities like PTOs, PTAs, Booster Clubs, and more. Getting involved doesn’t mean you have to attend every meeting or stay the whole time; any level of participation helps. Schools are strongest when families and staff work together, and every contribution matters.
This page offers resources to support you in building and maintaining a strong partnership with your school, making it simple to get involved and create a positive impact.
What is a PTO/PTA?
Parent Teacher Organizations (PTOs) and Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) bring families and school staff together to build strong partnerships. Their goal is to support the overall needs of the school, including educational programs and community events.
What is a Booster Club?
A Booster Club is a group of dedicated volunteers, often made up of families and staff, focused on supporting a specific school program. These groups typically raise funds and provide resources for activities like sports teams, music programs, theater, and other extracurriculars.
