Message from Principal Herbst

Hello Central Medford High School Families,

As some of you already know, we are planning a move! We are excited about the opportunity to find a new space that suits our programs and culture. Our team is currently on the hunt for the right home for Central Medford High School and Medford Opportunity programs as well as a home for Medford Online, the district’s new online program.

The move to a new location will allow the district to use the current building we occupy to open a third middle school. This is important because many of our elementary schools are full! By opening a third middle school and moving all sixth-graders to middle schools, several classrooms will be opened up at our elementary schools. This change will be great for our growing district and I am very supportive of it! We do not need to stay in such a large building because Central is designed to be a small school.

I want to be clear that we are not closing Central.  In fact, we continue to expand our opportunities for students who desire to learn in an alternative setting.

The move will occur over the summer and we will settle into our new home in the 2020-2021 school year. We will be sure to inform you when we find our new space and keep you posted throughout the transition.

Thank you for your continued support and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.
