Due to a variety of life circumstances, I recently began pursuing other opportunities in the education field to be closer to family. I interviewed last week for the position of Superintendent of the Troup County School System in Troup County, Georgia. I have been offered and have accepted the position. Their board approved my appointment Thursday afternoon. It is an outstanding opportunity and I appreciate their vote of confidence. I will finish the current year of my contract in Medford through June 30, 2019 and will begin in Troup County on July 1, 2019.
This has not been an easy decision for my wife and me because we have thoroughly enjoyed living in the Rogue Valley and I have enjoyed leading the Medford School District. We have accomplished much as a district and I am proud of the district’s progress. These results would not have been possible if it weren’t for the outstanding staff in our district, great kids and families, a visionary and supportive school board, and outstanding community partners. I have appreciated working with you and I appreciate your commitment to the students in the Medford School District.
We will be forever grateful for this opportunity to work and live in Medford and we will always fondly remember our time here. The Medford community has much to be proud of and I will forever remain an ambassador.
