The Medford School District (MSD) is pleased to announce Donnie Frazier as the new interim principal of South Medford High School starting in August.
Frazier has been with SMHS for 20 years, six years as counselor and 14 as assistant principal. Prior to his time at South, Frazier was a teacher for ten years in California.
“Over the years, I’ve enjoyed being part of this team of people that makes SMHS one of the premiere schools in the state,” said Frazier. “I’m excited to continue the great tradition of SMHS.”
“Typical principal hiring is conducted in March, so due to the late opening of the position, hiring an interim is the most prudent option,” said Superintendent Brian Shumate. The district will make an assessment next winter to decide how to proceed.
“Donnie has made major contributions to the ascent of SMHS in all areas,” said Shumate. “He’s a proven leader who is well-respected by the SMHS staff. I believe he’s the best person moving forward.”
Frazier takes over for Damian Crowson who accepted a director position at another school district.
