Summer Facilities Projects

July 7, 2017

While many students and staff are home for the summer relaxing, our Medford School District facilities crews are hard at work.

“Summer is the prime time to get our big projects completed,” said Facilities Manager Ron Havniear. “Having students and staff out of buildings allows us to get in and get to work with minimal disruption to the school process.”

Major 2017 summer projects include:

  • Seismic upgrade to Ruch Community School
  • Asphalt upgrades to the parking lots at Washington and Jacksonville Elementary Schools
  • Connecting Griffin Creek Elementary School’s irrigation to the City of Medford’s water supply
  • Several roof upgrades
  • Full re-painting at Kennedy Elementary School and touch-ups at all other schools

“We are implementing a robust preventative maintenance plan,” said Havniear. “It includes painting, filter change-outs, lamp change-outs, roof cleaning and repairs, and custodial deep cleaning. We hope that our students and staff will come back and be inspired by the quality and condition of our facilities.”
