The Medford School District is pleased to announce Aaron Luksich as the new principal of Wilson Elementary School. Luksich most recently served as assistant principal of North Medford High School for the last three years. He takes over at Wilson for Gerry Flock who will take the helm at Lone Pine Elementary School in August.
“I am humbled and honored to be the new principal at Wilson,” Luksich said. “I hope to uphold the high standards and sense of community the school staff, families, and its former leaders worked hard to establish.”
Luksich has been with the Medford School District for nine years. Before serving as assistant principal at NMHS, he was a teacher and coach at South Medford High School and a dean at Hedrick Middle School.
“Aaron’s leadership background, his passion and enthusiasm for teaching and learning, and his participation in high quality professional development makes him a perfect match for the staff and students and families at Wilson Elementary,” said Superintendent Brian Shumate in a memo to the Medford School District Board of Education recommending Luksich as principal. The Board approved the recommendation in a special board meeting on Wednesday.
Luksich participated in a competitive application process that included interviews with a committee of teachers, support staff, administrators, parents and board members. He officially begins as principal at Wilson in August.
