SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference

Three Medford School District schools participated in the 2018 SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference (SLSC) and those teams represented Southern Oregon with pride. SkillsUSA is a national membership association serving high school, college and middle school students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations, and for further education. It is SkillsUSA’s mission to empower its members to become world-class workers, leaders and responsible American citizens.

McLoughlin Middle School

McLoughlin Middle School didn't start their SkillsUSA Oregon chapter until the beginning of March but the students worked before and after school to diligently prepare for SLSC. Their hard work and commitment paid off with all 8 earning at least one medal! The girls vs. boys team engineering students took home gold and silver, so the girls are eligible to participate in the national competition (NLSC) in Louisville, Kentucky, June 25-29.

LeVonda Vickery, the SkillsUSA Advisor at Mac, is hoping to grow the McLoughlin chapter in order to accomplish even bigger and better things for the next school year. Way to go, Bulldogs!
