MEDFORD, OR — The Medford School District is proud to join other educational partners nationwide to celebrate educators, students, and school communities during Public Schools Week 2024.

This year’s events are from February 26 to March 1, 2024. Throughout the week, families, educators, and community members are encouraged to highlight the amazing things happening in their local public schools while expressing their support and advocacy for public education and all the benefits it provides children and families alike.

“Our nation’s public schools are the backbone of our society,” said Superintendent Bret Champion. “In MSD, our shared vision is ALL are learning, and learning is for ALL, and that is only possible with strong support from our community for our amazing public schools. “

Public Schools Week 2024 is part of the #HerefortheKids campaign, an effort to bring together families, educators, and community members to shine a light on local public schools and tell the stories of the amazingly positive things happening in classrooms and school buildings nationwide.

To celebrate Public Schools Week, you can:

  • Reach out to a teacher or school staff member to thank them for their work.

  • Use one of these templates to share success stories and other positive updates about local schools on social media.

  • Send a letter to your local and state elected officials and ask them to support fair funding for public education.

“There are countless ways to support your local public schools,” said Champion. “Whether you're an educator, a parent, a grandparent, a business owner, or a community member, we appreciate your advocacy. Let's make a positive impact together!”
