Medford School District Seeks Budget Committee Members
The Medford School District is seeking patrons in the community who wish to serve on the district’s budget committee. Applicants must live and be registered to vote in the district, and may not be an officer, agent or employee of the District. For additional information regarding the budget committee, please refer to School Board Policy DBEA. The committee will meet two to three evenings during the spring. Typically meetings occur on Thursday evenings in April and/or May. The purpose of the budget committee is to approve the budget document as submitted by the budget officer or as revised by the committee. The committee recommends a level of spending for the year and specifies the property tax rate for all funds in the approved budget.
Senate Bill 732 was passed in the 2021 Legislative session requiring districts to establish an educational equity advisory committee. At least one member of the budget committee must be a member of the district’s educational equity advisory committee.

At the first regular Board meeting in December, the Board will review the names of persons filing applications and names of those persons who have served previously and are willing to be reappointed.
